A native Italian, Davide Novelli started out as an actor in 1999 in Rome, where he had the opportunity to work in theaters like Sala1, Teatro di Roma and with masters such as Luciano Damiani. A month after receiving his degree in Economics, he moved to New York to attend the Lee Strasberg Institute. He worked hard to produce, co-direct and act in two plays, “Antigone” and “La Ronde,” and to shoot and co-produce a documentary with Gigi Van Deckter called “Sense of place: New York.” After finishing a master’s degree in “Media and Entertainment Management and Finance,” Davide joined Warner Bros. Pictures where he spent three years working in Marketing and Sales. Moving to Madison brought him back to theater. He produced and directed two stage readings “Novecento” and “Exposure: the woman behind the camera at Abu Ghraib.” He’s currently producing the comedy “Romeo and Juliet … got it on,” which he translated from Italian together with his wife, Stephanie, and he is happy to be joining the Wisconsin Story Project. |
