Todd Hammes

Todd holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Arizona and is currently completing studies for a Doctor of Musical Arts as a Collins Fellow at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In 2005, Todd was awarded the prestigious McKnight Visiting Composer Residency from the American Composers Forum, allowing him the opportunity to make music with the clients and staff of the South Eastern Minnesota Center for Independent Living. Todd released his fourth recording in 2007, Music For Percussion (Mostly), on the Innova Record Label. In 2008 he completed a commission for a chamber ensemble of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, a trio for two percussion and bass clarinet titled "What Happened to Thom?" His artist-in-residence work has included The Arizona Schools for the Deaf and Blind, Wolftrap Institute, Tucson Symphony Orchestra, Tucson Children’s Museum, Young Audiences of Southern Arizona, Young Audiences of Santa Cruz County, Meet the Composer, Arizona Commission on the Arts, Tucson/Pima Arts Council, Tucson Unified School District, Mesa Public Schools, Catalina Foothills School District and University of Arizona.
